Pharmaceutical research and development recruiter Clinical Professionals has shrugged off the general economic gloom and doom by opening a new office in London for the European market.
Clinical research manager Viviane Goodwin told Recruiter the company has already taken on two staff and is looking to employ five consultants by the end of the year.
The company is looking to take on consultants who speak at least one European language - Polish, Russian and Scandinavian language speakers in particular.
Goodwin says the pharmaceutical sector hasn’t really been affected by the economic downturn. “It remains a very strong market, not like IT and finance,” she says.
Goodwin says that opening a European office in London will help the company attract the candidates it needs. “We are filling roles within Europe, and therefore require multi-lingual speakers with recruitment experience, and the chances of doing that in London are greater, which makes it easier to fill vacancies in Europe,” she explains. Clinical Professionals’ Reading office will now concentrate on serving the UK martket, Goodwin adds.
