Pharma recruiter goes globally mobile
Leading pharmaceuticals and biotechnology staffing specialist the Real Staffing Group has developed a new iPhone app, which coincides with the launch of its new offices in New York and San Francisco.
The app will feature jobs in the sector from both sides of the Atlantic. Real Staffing told Recruiter that the main driver for developing the app was listening to candidates and realising mobile is an area of growing interest and convenience to them.
“It’s a new channel of communication, enabling consultants to stay in touch with candidates through a new medium,” said Mike Smith, regional managing director, US & UK, of FTSE 250 company SThree, of which Real Staffing is part. “The ’call now’ functionality is ideal for candidates to contact consultants while they’re on-the-go.” As well as allowing iPhone users to search for jobs, they can also store their favouritejobs.
Scott Fulton, Real Staffing director for San Francisco, said there were 600 downloads of the app in its first week. “This is a first for our industry and it’s a clear reflection of our philosophy of recognising talent,” he said. “Our business is people and by offering our candidates this feature to find jobs on the go, we are taking another step to better meet the needs of our clients.”
Real Staffing, which also has offices across Europe, joins the growing band of recruitment firms developing their own apps for the mobile environment, which includes Harvey Nash and engineering specialist Orion Group.
A recent free-to-download white paper report, based on a roundtable co-hosted by Jobsite.co.uk and Allthetopbananas.com, declared that 2010 could finally be the year of mobile recruitment. The Future of Mobile Recruitment warns that consumer behaviour remains ahead of the industry at the moment.
