PFJ, the specialist media recruiter, has become the first recruitment agency to become approved by The Periodical Publishers Association (PPA).

PFJ chairman Paul Farrer says: “We have been in discussions for a while and the PPA took the initiative to identify that we can add value to the PPA membership by becoming members under ‘approved recruiter’ status. We have already been involved in a seminar on the recent age discrimination legislation and how it will effect recruiters and we hope to be able to offer many more value added services that recruiters are not necessarily associated with.

“I think there are many issues such as interviewing skills and reference checking that we take for granted, but are actually skills that employers want to develop, particularly with their evolving managers,” he adds. “I am confident that it marks the start of real partnership with the magazine publishing industry.”
