Pertemps has rebranded its commercial vehicle driver arm in a move it says is a symptom of the competitiveness of the driver sector.

The newly named Drivers@Pertemps will operate from 37 regional branches, which will be manned by consultants, the majority of which are ex-drivers.

Kent Thompson says: "The new brand consolidates our existing experience in the haulage and logistics sector, and should give this part of the business a clearer identity that will help us attract more drivers and offer a better national service for clients." The company is also embarking on a £75,000 training project for drivers, which it says will 'bid to combat the acute skills shortage facing the sector.' The group currently places 4,000 drivers across the UK and serves 2,500 customers.
