Multi-sector recruiters Pertemps and Acorn have launched apprenticeships schemes.

Pertemps is working alongside property and facilities provider Mitie and training provider Pertemps People Development Group. Its apprentices spend one day a week training and four days in the office.

Pertemps managing director Carmen Watson says the scheme will be rolled out across all 200 branches nationwide if successful.

Acorn has taken on two apprentices in its nursing department in Newport and business administration department in Cardiff.

The company also reports having placed a number of apprentices in various sectors across the UK in recent months.
