Alison Harter has been appointed director of PermPort, the new permanent division of de Poel Consulting.

Harter told Recruiter: "The plan is to grow the permanent division in order to equal the success of the temporary division, both internally and for our clients.

"What we know is that each year, British industry spends £1.7bn in recruitment fees to recruit permanent staff. By putting in procedural efficiencies you can achieve some fairly significant cost savings without jeopardising the quality of candidates you hire."

Harter's previous roles include directorships for Monster.co.uk, TMP Worldwide and Harvey Nash.
