At the fourth event in a series of roundtable discussions held in London yesterday, members of the EFA/EFB, government and employers discussed the problems facing NEETs (16-18-year-olds not in employment, education or training) in entering the workforce. The roundtable was chaired by Recruiter editor DeeDee Doke.
The cuts being made to ‘Connexions’, a careers advice service for 16-19-year-olds run by Directgov, were a prominent concern as was the axing of the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) in January 2011.
