HR recruiter Ortus is opening an office in São Paulo, Brazil.

Parent company FiveTen Group’s accountancy & finance brand Marks Sattin, legal recruiter Laurence Simons and marketing recruiter EMR are already established in Rio and São Paulo.

The São Paulo office will be led by Berta Papp, who joins from Laurence Simons, where she worked as international manager for Latin and Central America.

Stephen Menko, director of Ortus UK, says: “Between 2003 and 2008, foreign direct investment in Brazil grew by 35% and it is continuing to grow today, despite the hangover from the global downturn. Expanding Ortus’ reach into Latin America gives us the chance to increase the breadth and talent base of the professionals we can offer to our global client base.”
