Online hiring dipped in July _2
There was a slight decrease in online hiring activity in July following a surge in the previous months, according to the Monster Employment Index UK.
The Index slipped two points to 123 in July driven by fewer opportunities for workers in sectors such as banking, finance and insurance.
Meanwhile the Index revealed a continued increase in online job demand for employees in management, consulting, telecommunications and IT.
Monster CEO Alan Townsend (pictured) says: “Although the Index dipped slightly in July, online job demand is still very high in the UK, up 15 points year-on-year. Overall, the outlook for UK online recruitment remains largely positive.”
The South-West, Wales and Scotland registered increase online demand in July. However, online recruiting activity in London remained flat.
