OECD area unemployment falls
Unemployment across Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries fell to 8.5% in August from July’s figure of 8.6% in July.

The unemployment rate has returned to August 2009 levels, with unemployment appearing stable across OECD countries.
The 33 member countries of OECD are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israël, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and US.
