Nuns on recruitment run

Fed up with the seemingly ever-present doom and gloom of the economy?

Fed up with the seemingly ever-present doom and gloom of the economy? Is the materialism in recruitment getting you down? Fancy getting away from the rat-race? Are you a single woman, aged between 25 and 45? Then why not join up with the Redemptoristine Sisters, an enclosed order of nuns at the St Alphonsus monastery in Drumcondra, Ireland. It seems the Catholic Church in Ireland is pushing its recruitment drive for nuns and priests as part of its year of vocations, which runs through to May next year. Other initiatives include a ‘vocational discernment’ weekend with the Sisters of Mercy (no, the order of nuns, not the gothic rock band) in Glenstal Abbey, Limerick,  hanging out with the Poor Clares inCarlow on the last Sunday of every month, as well as targeting careers and graduate fairs. Presumably they’ve already got a presence on Second Life…
