The influx of new teachers brought about by the recession is positive, according to a survey by Hays Education.

The survey shows that more than a fifth see the increase in teaching applications as positive but 33% express concerns that they don’t realise how difficult teaching is and won’t stick with their newfound careers when the economy picks up.

Martyn Best, managing director of Hays Education, says: “Interest in teaching jobs has increased during the recession.
