Linda Holbeche is to join the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as research and policy director.  She will take up the post in June.

Holbeche will be responsible for leading the CIPD’s extensive management research programme and the translation of that knowledge into practice for the benefit of all those involved in the management and development of people. She heads a 40-strong team, including 12 expert research advisers, and will become a key spokesperson and advocate for the people management and development profession, in the media and in relations with government and other opinion formers.

She says: “My research into high performance organisations convinces me that the contribution of the people management and development profession is key to unlocking the potential of individuals, as well as to building organisations which can achieve sustainable high performance. “

Holbeche joins from the Work Foundation, where she is director of leadership and consultancy.
