The head of recruitment for Nestlé, UK & Ireland has outlined what she says are ’non-negotiables’ for recruitment agencies working with the company.

Amanda Jailler told Recruiter that Nestlé works with around 40 agencies, operating a number of PSLs organised by function, such as finance, legal or IT, with three or four agencies on each. “Our agencies have tended to work with us for a number of years, and they know what good looks like for Nestlé, added Jailler.

She said that generally, Nestlé asked its agencies to only submit their top three candidates. However, she added, if only one candidate was up to the mark, she would expect the agency to only submit that one candidate.
Jailler said that the following was ’non-negotiable’ when working with agencies:

  • attempting to renegotiate rates
  • putting forward a candidate without having discussed the role first
  • going direct to line manager
  • making speculative applications.
