More than half (53%) of British workers have looked for a new job while at work, according to new research from recruitment agency review site Hirescores.com.

More than half (53%) of British workers have looked for a new job while at work, according to new research from recruitment agency review site Hirescores.com.

The poll of 1,489 workers shows that of the office workers who looked for a new job during their working day, 73%, said they did so as they were bored in their current role, while 25% said that they had already told a close colleague that they were looking to leave. One in ten (11%) said they had been caught in the act by a colleague or manager.

Two in three wanted to leave because they wanted more pay while 42% were frustrated at a lack of career progression and 23% said they were looking for jobs while at work as it might scare their employers into giving them a pay increase.
