Monster acquires Yahoo! HotJobs assets

International jobsite Monster Worldwide has acquired the assets of online recruitment website Yahoo! HotJobs for $225m (£140.4m) in cash.

International jobsite Monster Worldwide has acquired the assets of online recruitment website Yahoo! HotJobs for $225m (£140.4m) in cash.

Upon completion of the deal, Monster will enter into a traffic agreement with Yahoo!’s provider of career and job content on the Yahoo! homepage in the US and Canada.

Monster has also been provided with an exclusive right for a period of time following the completion of the acquisition to negotiate similar traffic agreements with Yahoo! properties on a global basis, including countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, subject to certain limitations.

Monster added in a statement: “Of particular interest to multinational companies both inside and outside the US is the traffic agreement, which gives Monster the exclusive right to negotiate with all of Yahoo!’s available global markets

“Companies looking to hire people outside the US, or located outside the US seeking to hire within the US or anywhere else, will have access to a larger pool of geography-relevant talent.”
