Monroy climbs TheLadders to direct product management

TheLadders.co.uk, the careers site for £50k plus executives, has appointed its first director of product management with a brief to drive its UK web presence and products in line with a major increase in members. Online software expert Lauri Monroy joins the company this month,bringing more than 12 years’ product experience to TheLadders.co.uk. He will immediately begin to define a product strategy for the careers site, translating business and customer requirements into a useable and effective web offering.

Finnish-born Monroy joins TheLadders.co.uk from Cellcrypt where hewas director of product management. At Cellcrypt, he was responsible for the company’s VOIP [Voice over Internet Protocol] products from road map, development, licensing, usability and implementation. “Lauri has incredible experience in delivering challenging software projects working with multi-disciplined and geographically distributed project teams,” said Derek Pilcher, managing director of TheLadders.co.uk. “His energetic and innovative approach to managing products through change and growth is perfect for our fast-growing UK business.”

Monroy said of his appointment: “TheLadders.co.uk is experiencing incredible growth in its jobseeker business and the team is ambitious in ensuring that it offers the best possible product for its new customers. My biggest challenge will be to make sure that we marry quality with pace as the rate of growth is incredible.”

Circle Recruitment has strengthened its team with the appointment of Lucie Alker as key account manager in its Manchester office. Alker will concentrate on working with the company’s key client base, while also developing business opportunities in the IT sector.

The Interim Management Association (IMA) has appointed Marcus Astley, managing director of management resource provider Niche Resources, and Tarquin Bennett-Coles, director of RSA Interims, to be IMA executive board members responsible for external affairs. Astleyand Bennett-Coles will focus on developing relationships with professional and educational bodies, in addition to working with government bodies.

Security services provider VSG has appointed Martin Wainman to the newly created post of business development manager. Wainman joins VSG from Reed Managed Services, where he worked for 16 years, most recently as strategic development director.

Fresh Talent Management has continued its Midlands expansion with the appointment of Nardia Martin as temporaries manager. She will be overseeing the operational and strategic development of temporary service across the Midlands region for Fresh Talent.

Fleet Personnel has chosen Danny Harding (left) as assistant branch manager in its Bournemouth office, while Michelle Mitchell (below left) takes on the role of divisional manager in the same office.

Castlerock Care Services, the healthcare recruiter, has made a series of appointments after launching two new divisions: Appoint Rec2Rec and Appoint Healthcare. Lynn Spruce, who is heading up the two new divisions, has worked in recruitment for seven years, with experience on both regional and national levels. Her previous roles have included director of North West Appointments, and branch manager for both Staffsign and Workforce Recruitment. Angela Hagger joins as consultant, specialising in the placement of doctors and physiotherapists. She has worked in medical recruitment for seven years, providing locum nurses and ODPs [operating department practitioners] to NHS and private hospitals under the NHS PASA Framework. Jo Ivison has been made branch manager at Castlerock’s new Gateshead office. Ivison has worked in the healthcare sector for more than nine years, for companies including Bupa and Servoca. Clive Thomas has been appointed branch manager of Castlerock’s Cannock branch. Thomas has more than 10 years’ experience within the nursing, support and care sectors. Most recently, he was branch manager for Flame Lily Nursing Agency. Anne Ross has been appointed as healthcare manager of the new Southampton branch. Ross has nearly 20 years’ experience of healthcare recruitment, and a further 10 years as an RGN and orthopaedic nurse.

BraveNewTalent.com, the graduate recruitment service and social network, has appointed Charlotte Hogg as relationship manager.

Cardiff-based accounting and finance recruiter NOW Accountancy have two new starters for its permanent division. Rebecca Kennedy and Judith Wright will handle all practice consultant and partqualified roles.

Recruitment technology provider Changeworknow has selected Anil Aphale as business development manager. Aphale has more than 10 years’ experience of selling talent management software and applicant tracking systems.

National recruitment and business services group, HR GO, has announced the appointment of Steve Carter to its board of directors. Carter is managing director of specialist information systems and support company, Eclipse Group Solutions.

Richard Collis has been appointed as partner at accountancy firm Saffery Champness. He will be a member of the Professional and Consultancy Services Group, a group focused on the recruitment sector.

Executive search firm, Team Capital, has appointed Francisco Martin to the post of nonexecutive director, focusing on its international business. Martin was most recently global HR director for Indra, a leading technology and defence systems company.
