MediaLink brings new aspect to exec search
US-based MediaLink’s newly-launched executive search practice can provide clients with a better service offering and do it more efficiently than traditional executive search firms.
Director of the practice, Chris Nutile, told Recruiter that the business development and strategic consultancy firm has “a huge network of executive talent within the media, advertising and technology industries”, built up over a number of years through its top people.
With offices in Los Angeles and a MediaLink presence in London, Nutile believes this is a good opportunity to enter the UK market. “As part of a consulting organisation, we bring a whole new aspect to the executive search game,” he said. “As client needs expand,” he added, “we will work internationally to assist them,” pointing out that chief executive, Michael Kassan, often works out of London.
“My concept would be to set up strategic alliances with executive search firms that sit within the market. They know and understand the local talent market, best practices and challenges. I believe the best way to scale our business is through building out partnerships. “There are, of course, lots of good executive firms out there with the specific media knowledge. But as a consulting organisation, we work with the key players on a daily basis. We have the internal knowledge and we can move quickly.”
Through close partnering with its clients, such as Microsoft, Unilever, The Walt Disney Company, Sony, GlaxoSmithKline, Vodaphone and CBS, MediaLink provides strategic advice, including advice on staffing.
Three months into the role and the new division, Nutile said: “Right now, it’s going great. There’s myself, a researcher and a co-ordinator, although this year we will be finding two executive search consultants and one research analyst.”
