CPL Resources remains profitable, despite challenging market conditions, the Irish recruiter’s chairman John Hennessey told its AGM yesterday.

Hennessey said: “As indicated when we announced our results to 30 June 2009, the markets in which we operate remain difficult and employment trends continue to present challenges. Nevertheless, the Group is pleased to inform our shareholders that we remain profitable. We expect to report profit before tax of in excess of €2m (£1.8m) for the six months to 31 December 2009. We will release our interim statement on the 28 January 2010.  

“In recent months, we have continued to reduce our cost base and reposition our business in order to meet the challenges posed by market conditions. Our sales force and delivery teams remain committed to providing our customers with innovative and flexible solutions to meet their business needs in a constantly changing environment.”
