Trends in human resources will be studied as a result of a link-up between the London School of Economics (LSE) and Manpower.
The Manpower Human Resource Lab was launched last week at LSE, a joint initiative between the recruitment agency and the Centre for Economic Performance, part of LSE. Its goal will be to study and analyse trends in the labour market. It will produce three reports this year relating to employment, under the broad headings of: lifelong learning and skills; organisational flexibility; and incentives. Manpower is the sole sponsor for the project and a decision on whether the link-up will continue next year is yet to be made. Speaking at the launch, Barbara Beck, Manpower president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to fund research into the changing world of work, which is something we care about greatly. “This partnership will be the backbone to so much important research in the future.” Manpower has a global network of 4,400 offices in 72 countries and has 400,000 clients per year.
