Bank of Scotland figures in

The London jobs market continues to improve according to the latest Bank of Scotland London Labour Market Report.

The research, based on a survey of over 100 recruitment and employment consultants by business research firm NTC Economics, found that staff appointments rose in March. However consultants noted a fall in the availability of qualified staff for permanent staff.

As a result, permanent staff salaries increased at the strongest rate in 11 months in March.

Tim Crawford, group economist at Bank of Scotland, said: “London's job market continued to perform well in March with demand increasing for both temporary and permanent staff.

“However, the jobs market is clearly tightening in the capital with the availability of qualified permanent staff falling to its lowest level in nearly two years and salaries rising at their quickest pace in almost a year.”
