Letter sent to Recruiter:

As you may be aware the REC offers a number of well established qualifications. We want to ensure their currency in an ever-changing market and so this year, we are undertaking a comprehensive review of these qualifications.

The reason is we want to help develop careers as well as attract, develop and retain recruiters.

The first phase in the Qualifications Review is to consult stakeholders. Cross-industry support is imperative and therefore our consultation has been extensive - both UK-wide and cross sector. As part of this consultation, the REC has already been speaking with REC and IRP members at our REC On the Road events in London, Southampton, Edinburgh and Belfast, and soon we will be coming to Cardiff (29 June) and Manchester (14 July).

However, it is important that the entire industry, whether an REC or IRP member or not, has the opportunity to influence what the qualifications for our industry should look like. I am really keen to hear from readers of Recruiter and would welcome the thoughts of those who are both holders and supports, as well as sceptics.
I can be contacted at [email protected] or by telephone on 0207 009 2183.
