Workers worry over job security

Workers are increasingly worried about the security of their jobs, according to a new survey.

The survey, from bank Lloyds TSB, reveals that a third think their jobs are less secure than a year ago, 61% thought job security was the same and 10% thought it was better.

Trevor Williams, chief economist at Lloyds TSB corporate markets, told Metro newspaper: “If people don’t feel safe in their job and high prices are putting incomes under pressure then demand for discretionary purchases will naturally slow.”
