Jobcentre strike

Thousands of Department of Work and Pensions staff are due to strike on Monday over pay
Thousands of Department of Work and Pensions staff will stage a walk out next Monday at Jobcentres, benefit offices, pension centres and the Child Support Agency.
Up to 80,000 workers are expected to strike, following a dispute between the Public and Commercial Services Union and the government over a three-year pay deal. PCS officials said the deal would leave 40% of staff getting no pay rise at all this year. Unions are lobbying the government over the proposed 2% pay deal, saying workers deserve at least 6% to make up for previous below inflation rises.
