PurelyBanking is a new job board for the banking and finance sector that allows candidates to create a searchable profile with a one-click registration for LinkedIn users.

This will save registration time for the majority of job hunters within this niche sector, as many jobseekers have a LinkedIn profile. Individuals can upload their CVs if they prefer.

Darryn Lewis, co-founder of PurelyBanking and a former recruiter himself, believes it is one of the first job boards to achieve this with its technology partner, Zero One Design, spending months developing the board and writing the appropriate application programming interface (APIs) to allow it.

“Other job boards have created functionalities such as cross-posting of jobs to LinkedIn and Facebook, but that is a recruiter benefit, and hasn’t concentrated on the candidate experience,” explained Lewis.

As well as making it easier for the candidate, one of the other reasons PurelyBanking has taken this approach is because many people update their LinkedIn profile more regularly than they do their CV. “So our candidate database should provide the most up-to-date resource available of passive candidates, reducing the time spent resourcing,” said Lewis.

The site also features a progressive search function to reduce the time spent by candidates looking for their ideal job. Put simply, a progressive function allows candidates to refine their search, and the results update instantly without having to go back to the main or advance search when they alter their search string.

Lewis also claims that unlike most other job boards it has also integrated its unique search function into individual client profiles, which allows a jobseeker to search only a selected agency or employer’s jobs, by either sub-sector, keywords or exact location.

“We’ve tried to make it quicker and more exact, to reduce the time jobseekers need to spend looking, but at the same time recruiters should receive more suitable candidates for their job roles,” said Lewis.

PurelyBanking will be followed by LatestITjobs.co.uk by September and any IT jobs on the banking site will be cross-posted on this site. There are a number of packages open to recruiters and PurelyBanking is currently running a free trial to new clients.
