The launch of the Institute of Recruiters (IOR) will stimulate innovation in education within recruitment and boost all industry bodies, according to Azmat Mohammed, the new professional body’s founder.
The IOR launched today, with a mission to drive up standards of professionalism within recruitment through a range of educational and training services.
“One of the things we believe is that when a new organisation enters a market they can stimulate innovation and growth in that space,” Azmat Mohammed, also the IOR’s director of ICT and operations, told Recruiter.
Mohammed agrees there could be ‘some cross over’ between what the IOR and the trade bodies already offer.
However, he adds: “We expect it [our entry into this market] will increase membership for all incumbents in this space because they will reinvent themselves and innovate. We are not taking their market share, we are growing this space.”
The Recruitment & Employment Confederation already offers education and training as part of its services. The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) launched an online assessment and tool kit and qualifcation earlier this year.
