Many recruiters from Britain are now setting up in Australia — a route Kingdom himself followed a decade ago. He says that a combination of lifestyle and business opportunities persuaded him to leave the UK to set up in Sydney and that many other British recruiters are making the same choice.

"UK recruiters are exceptionally well trained compared to those from other countries and that provides some excellent opportunities in Australia. There are some great recruitment companies in the UK and although people do have to adapt to a new life, UK consultants generally do very well here because it's a similar society and you don't have to learn another language," he adds.

Although based in Sydney, Kingdom says that Melbourne and Canberra are also major players in the Australian economy and are proving excellent business for recruiters.
