Minnesota-based NCS Pearson, one of the recruitment agencies to supply airport security screeners in the wake of 9/11, has agreed to pay a $5.6m (£3.77bn) settlement to the US Federal Government. The payment was made to resolve allegations that it overcharged the Transportation Security Administration, billing incorrect rates for sub-contractor labour, according to the Department of Justice.

International executive search firm Pedersen & Partners has opened offices in Johannesburg, South Africa and Yerevan, Armenia. Michael Al- Nassir, partner in charge of Middle East and Africa said: “South Africa is a natural step in our Middle East and Africa expansion strategy, and serves as a gateway for providing management recruitment services to our clients in and throughout sub-Saharan Africa.”

Speaking at the World Economic Forum India Economic Summit, generalist recruiter Manpower’s chairman and chief executive Jeff Joerres said he believes India has the potential to become the most prominent source of talent over the coming decades.

The Health Service Executive, which is responsible for providing health and personal social services for the Republic of Ireland, has proposed introducing new restrictions on recruitment and
reviewing contracts of temporary staff, according to the Irish Times.
