Kestrel Aircraft Corporation is to create potentially 600 new jobs in Wisconsin as it develops a new single engine turboprop aircraft.

Kestrel Aircraft Corporation is to create potentially 600 new jobs in Wisconsin as it develops a new single engine turboprop aircraft.
It is moving operations from Duluth, Minnesota and Brunswick, Maine to Superior within the state, according to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).This follows WHEDA and Wisconsin Community Development Legacy Fundy (WCDLF) teaming up to offer $30m (£19m) of tax credits to Kestrel.
Further support also comes in the shape of tax credit from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to the tune of $18m, as well as a $2m loan, while a further $2.4m loan come from the city of Superior and $800k from Douglas County.
WHEDA executive director Wyman Winston comments: “I am thrilled that WHEDA is able to utilise its economic development and job creation tools to help Kestrel revolutionize aviation right here in Wisconsin.
“Kestrel recognises Wisconsin’s know-how and talent, and WHEDA is committed to helping Kestrel develop the next generation of commercial aircraft in our great state.”
