Recruitment activity in the UAE has improved in Q1 2011 as compared to the same period over last year, reports Emirati news website Emirates 24|7.

According to Peter Greaves, director, head of financial markets at McArthur Murray, Dubai, “15% new jobs”, were created in Q1.

However, Cliff Single, commercial manager at BAC Middle East, estimates the growth is limited to a single-digit figure. “There was a slight increase (5%) in the number of jobs created in H1 this year compared to 2010,” he told Emirates 24|7.

Hasnain Qazi, Middle East business manager at Huxley Associates, adds:  “Fifty six per cent more vacancies [were] registered with Huxley Associates in H1 2011 compared to H1 in 2010.

“This includes UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait and Bahrain.”
