International: Standard Chartered Bank on recruitment drive in Asia

Global bank Standard Chartered Bank is seeking to recruit relationship managers as well as equities, commodities and compliance professionals for 1,000 new jobs in Asia.

Yesterday Reuters reported the bank expects to add about 1,000 jobs this year.

A Standard Chartered Bank spokesperson told Recruiter: “It is up to 1,000 jobs. The jobs will be largely focused in Asia. We are looking at increasing the number of relationship managers in our consumer bank and our wholesale bank. We are also looking at bulking up equities and commodities teams because we are seeing growth there.

“The other area where we expect to see more staff is in compliance. The jobs would be in Hong Kong, Singapore, India, China, Indonesia, those sort of places. I don’t think it’s anywhere specific, it will be across the board.”
