Do not assume the time between Thanksgiving and the New Year is a dead zone for hiring, says a new report from jobs search website CareerCast.com.

Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast.com says: “By doubling your efforts over the holidays at a time when many other unemployed workers are focused on activities other than job hunting, you increase your odds of finding a new position.”

The report also suggests that while coordinating schedules to arrange interviews may be a challenge in the festive period, most companies don’t change their hiring practices just because the calendar shows December.
