US online career site CareerBuilder has bought Malaysia’s fastest-growing job portal JobsCentral, according to Bernama, Malaysia’s national news agency.

US online career site CareerBuilder has bought Malaysia’s fastest-growing job portal JobsCentral, according to Bernama, Malaysia’s national news agency.

The article cites online data and research provider Internet World Stats’ estimation that internet penetration rate across Malaysia is nearly 60%. The UK figure is 82.5%.

Bernama reports expected GDP growth of 5% this year for Malaysia, where unemployment is low at 3%, or just over 800,000 citizens. JobsCentral currently boasts a total of over 200,000 registered jobseekers.
