Interims prefer jobs from agencies _2

However, the importance of networking is noted in a survey of the interim market

A majority of interims prefer to use agencies that offer interim roles and interim to perm roles, according to research from London-based Marks Sattin Financial Interims Division.

A third of respondents said that while they were working in an interim position they were re-employed directly into the firm or through external investors/advisors, 29% of those asked said they were offered a permanent position but turned it down for one reason or another.

The survey also highlighted the importance of networking in the interim market, with 57% of respondents indicating that they were part of a network, but 75% of these said that they were informal networks rather than formal ones.

However, 25% of respondents said their job moves more often than not came from using an agency rather than the network that they have built.
