Interims have been advised to operate through a personal services company when the new agency worker regulations (AWR) come into force on 1 October.

At an event organised by the Institute of Interim Management last night, Michael Linden, partner at Nyman Linden, explained that operating through a personal service company (a limited company that typically has a sole director — the contractor — who owns most or all of the shares) would protect individuals, recruiters and HR departments alike.
