Extra Personnel has launched a training academy to provide new consultants with knowledge of all recruitment procedures.

The academy will be located at Extra’s head office in Walsall and training will be held bi-monthly. The training consists of an intensive five-day course, which has its focus on the practical aspects of recruitment as well as the theory.

The initial training is then followed up by a one-day intensive sales programme to include more advanced telesales techniques and then a one-day client visit course providing the consultant with all the tools to ensure an effective meeting with clients. 

An advanced level training course has also been put in place for managers and senior level staff to increase productivity and effectiveness across its 17-branch network in the Midlands and north-west.

Extra’s Training Academy is headed up by Julie Giles, assisted by Kerry Leonard and special freelance trainers. Giles says: “We believe that we now have in place a training programme which is unrivalled within the recruitment industry.
“The feedback so far is that the training is 100% relevant and practical and we are confident the right training will have a positive effect on retention figures among our new staff. Figures so far show that Extra is retaining 90% of its staff which is an exceptionally high figure within the recruitment industry.”
