Indeed scouts in the Antarctic

Jobs search engine Indeed has launched in 24 more countries, bringing its global coverage to 53, and 12 additional languages, making 24 in total. The new locations include Bahrain, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Kuwait, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and Venezuela.

The expansion means Indeed covers 75% of the world’s population and 88% of internet users. Earlier this year it extended its reach to one of the globe’s most far flung job markets in Antarctica.

“As you might imagine there aren’t a whole lot of jobs on this continent,” said Indeed’s Mike Werch, who told Recruiter there were 17 vacancies on the site at time of press. “Our goal has been to be the most comprehensive search engine for jobs and to serve as the starting point for every jobseeker’s search. Given this goal, we felt that Antarctica had to be included.”
