HR managers struggle to get ahead, whether it be due to time constraints or being too busy managing other people’s careers, according to a poll by search and selection site for senior execs TheLadders.co.uk.

The survey found that 70% of HR managers said they had experienced the feeling of being trapped in their job, while 50% cited lack of time as the reason they were stuck in their current role.

The survey found that variety was the key motivator in their careers (58%), with recognition and job security.

It found that while 47% said they had no problem pulling their CV together, a surprising 24% said that their current CV was just too long.
