Learning, training and development professionals are earning higher than the average HR salary for the first time in 10 years, according to the latest reward survey from Croner Reward in association with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
The research found that managers in the learning and development field earn an average of £45,000, compared to £37,739 last year.
hey have moved up the ranks from the lowest paid specialists in the HR industry to become second highest paid specialists in the HR industry, alongside recruitment specialists and employee relations.
The research revealed that compensation and benefits specialists remain the highest paid specialism receiving as much as 16% above the average salary for a senior manager, with £50,000 compared with £43,272.
It found that recruitment managers and employee relations managers earn an average of £45,000, personnel professionals working as internal consultants on projects earn £48,750, 13% above the average HR salary. The lowest paid specialism this year is health and safety at -7.6%.
