Hays reports ‘very healthy’ Japanese jobs market

The Japanese jobs market is in a “very healthy” state, according to Christine Wright, managing director of Hays in Japan.

The Japanese jobs market is in a “very healthy” state, according to Christine Wright, managing director of Hays in Japan.

Wright’s comments follows an announcement that Hays is seeking experienced UK recruitment consultants to join its teams in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.

Wright says: “Japan’s jobs market is not only very healthy, but very tight, with a growing list of skills now in short supply.

“Asia is emerging as an increasingly important and exciting financial region. Economic growth is significant and businesses are ramping up their hiring activity. Japan’s recovery may have been slower when compared to Hong Kong or Singapore, but the country still counts as an Asian powerhouse.

“Employers are continuing to expand, recruitment activity is growing and there are not enough recruiters to meet demand. As a result, we’re looking for ambitious recruitment consultants.”

Wright will be in London to interview interested recruitment consultants from 2-4 February.
