Green working

Most UK workers do not think green efforts impact global warming
The vast majority of UK office workers do not believe that small green steps can make a difference to global warming, a new survey claims.

The survey, from office support recruiter Office Angels, shows that just one third (38%) of UK firms have green policies in place, while 73% of UK office workers don’t think taking small green steps in the office will actually impact upon global warming.
However, almost a quarter (22%) of the UK plc claim their workplace has implemented a green policy in the last year.

David Clubb, managing director of Office Angels, said: “Small green steps from everybody would lead to a big combined effort nationwide. With over 29 million workers in the UK there is the potential to make a big difference. Office Angels is learning as everyone is, we have implemented a recycling policy across all of our branches but I am sure there is more we can do. Whether you’re the PA or the CEO, we’d encourage you to do the same. Speak up in your office environment, suggest an idea and encourage the change.”
