The number of green jobs being created is on the increase, according to the managing director of specialist green recruiter Acre Resources.
Andrew Cartland says that he has observed a 58% increase in the number of green jobs on the market in the past year in the corporate responsibility, climate change and environmental space.
Shannon Houde, career coach at Acre Resources, adds: “As the recession causes more redundancies, many are taking the opportunity to change careers to do what they are passionate about.
“The most important thing for career switchers looking to break into sustainability or CSR is to take the time to translate your skills and customise your CV.
“Once you get the interview be sure to do your homework on the company and all of its sustainability practices.
“It is becoming a more and more competitive marketplace for green jobs.”
