Minister unveils plans for an agency for unskilled workers

A new agency that would help low-paid unskilled workers get better jobs is to be set up in the next three years, the skills secretary John Denham has told the Financial Times.

Denham told the FT that he plans to create an agency to provide advice on everything from childcare to qualifications.

Dernham said he wanted to build a service good enough to make it “possible for us to say, ‘If you are frustrated about what you’re paid, the answer lies in your own hands. It’s down to you’.”
