Glotel purchase gives Spring US footprint_2

The acquisition of Glotel is the "first step on an exciting road" to making Spring a global company.

That's the view of Aidan Anglin, managing director of Spring's technology staffing brands, who was speaking exclusively to Recruiter from the company's headquarters in Bouverie Street, London.

"I don't think [Glotel] makes us a global company but it's the first step to taking us there," said Anglin. "This is a real opportunity to give us a footprint in the US market."

Glotel has 11 offices in the US, two in the Asia Pacific region and a strong presence in Europe. Anglin said it was "too early to say" whether there would be any redundancies from Glotel and no decision has yet been taken on whether Glotel would be re-branded.

Anglin told Recruiter that Spring "remained acquisitive," although no further deals were pending. The acquisition of Glotel brings Spring's headcount up to 1,100 from 900.

Anglin said that Spring's next goal was to "have an established presence in key markets" such as Benelux, France and Germany. The company recently opened an office in Rome.

"Spring hasn't frightened its competition for some time but we are going to be incredibly competitive," revealed Anglin.
