A Wolverhampton gangmaster has had his application for a GLA licence denied over concerns surrounding his actual identity.

The GLA was unable to authenticate documents provided to confirm the identity of Joginder Mann. Consequently, the application was refused, while the GLA has passed the relevant information to the UK Border Agency.

Paul Whitehouse, chairman of the GLA, says: “The right to work is only one of the checks we carry out on those applying for a licence. All applicants must also be able to demonstrate that procedures are in place to ensure the welfare of workers.”
