FT relaunches Executive Appointments section

The Financial Times is upping the stakes in the race for print recruitment advertising in the executive arena with the relaunch of its Executive Appointments section.

The Financial Times is upping the stakes in the race for print recruitment advertising in the executive arena with the relaunch of its Executive Appointments section.

FT executives last night unveiled the new look Executive Appointments, which will be published each Thursday, beginning today (9 September). The section will contain more editorial content than before, including on its front page, in a bid to better target and attract passive jobseekers whom the newspaper hopes will seek out the section for career and employment information.

Dominic Good, the FT’s advertising sales director EMEA and global head of display advertising, told an audience last night that the newspaper had maintained its recruitment section through every week of the economic downtown and was “now in a better place”.

“Good suggested that more changes were on the way across the spectrum of FT offerings, saying: “Very, very shortly, we will be able to target jobseekers across [online service] ft.com.”

Promotions for the revitalised section say Thursday will now be known as Jobs-day.

The FT’s effort follows a similar drive this year by The Daily Telegraph to up its share of recruitment advertising by increasing the emphasis on editorial content in its jobs section.
