Recruiters urged to forge greater links with government due to recession

Recruiters need to forge greater links with government due to adverse trading conditions, according to Tara Ricks, chair of the Forum of Professional Recruiters (FPR).

Speaking at a meeting between committee members and Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon, who also holds the role of Shadow Solicitor General, Ricks said: “Our industry is facing slower trading conditions than we have seen for many years.

“To compound the economic slowdown, we are rapidly seeing the impact of legislation that has been unrolled under the current Labour government – whether related directly to business or to employment status. We provide a critical service to employers and now more than ever, we need to work in partnership with business and government to ensure good recruitment policies are in place that provide the right framework for trading.”
