Four in 10 employees plan to work past the default retirement age, set to be phased out in October next year, according to a survey from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

The survey also reveals that 29% do not plan on working past the state retirement age and 25% don’t know either way.
Almost half (44%) of respondents oppose the current right of employers to retire employees once they reach their 65th birthday.
