A former sales manager at the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has this afternoon won her claim against the trade body for unfair dismissal.

In revealing their decision, an employment tribunal in London described the process surrounding the redundancy of Maggie Pattinson in May 2009 as “wholly unfair”.

Respondents in the case were REC chief executive Kevin Green and the REC’s commercial director, Martyn Noble. Noble has never been an REC employee but has worked at the trade body as a consultant since August 2008.
