Nuneaton-based Satchwell Associates decided to promote world peace with an English workers XI versus the Rest of the World (which included French, Estonian, Polish and Angolan) football match.

Players were recruited from a wide range of companies that Satchwell supply, including Dairy Crest, Schenker and Nuneaton and Borough Bedworth Council. The day also saw teams from around 20 of Satchwell Associates' business clients compete in a five-a-side tournament.

Surprisingly, the English team emerged triumphant — we hope Steve McClaren was present.
